I’m an anthropologist and doctoral candidate working on my dissertation about everyday life in Tirana, Albania.  I’ve studied Albania for over seven years now and have been traveling to the country off and on since 2006.  My ethnographic experiences include time spent in small villages in Northern Albania, as well as larger urban areas like Tirana.  Some people know me better by my Albanian name, Donika.

  1. Hello, we’re PeshkuPaUjë, an online, albanian blogosphere community/space since 2003.
We are expanding to non-albanian blogs around and we’d like to add your blog feed to our list. Would you mind if I add this feed to Peshku? I remind you that there will be possible [moderated] discussion about your posts. If you have any questions you can reply to my email.

    • Hi Elian,
Yes I follow PeshkuPaUjë and I really like it. I’m excited that you all would want to add my blog and gladly give permission. Thanks for reaching out to me.

  2. Thank you so much for your blogs, Donika. As a black woman myself, I was delighted when I found about it and I have learned and smiled and laughed through your articles. I really wish I get the chance to meet you next time I go to Albania. I have so many question I’d love to ask. Keep up the good work!
